Hmm, I thought that I should inform my contact list that i now listen to NOVA for eight hours every day. This is truly horrible. I wish for you to know this. What's worse is that i listen to it for eight hours between 5pm and 1am, which means i get to hear the entirety of BOTH NOVA NINETEENS. Thus, given that their playlists are so short i think i hear about twenty tracks repeated about ooh say four times whilst i'm at work.

What's worse is when i go to the gym prior to employment, for instance today, and the gym too has NOVA the aural invasion is even more extensive.

I must stop my whining. It is all in a good cause, that of the production of income, and this is useful as it benefits the economy as I will no doubt choose to spend what I earn. So from the perspective of driving economic growth [if one happens to consider that this is a good thing] me putting up with NOVA is doubtless a good thing.

FURTHER! you should all be online after about 1:10AM, as this seems to be when i get home!

Michael :)

today the nice people at another recruitment company sent me a lovely email saying that i have been somewhat unsuccessful in applying for a job. i like it when people tell me that they are rejecting me. it gives me confidence that when i send people emails applying for stuff that they actually bother to note that i have sent them an email.

i appear to be completely unskilled for anything/one that may wish to employ me. this is problematic.

in other news i spent a lot of money on birkenstocks today. i now have feet. and i can see my toes.

I had my 3:40 of fame yesterday afternoon. For the majority of you that missed it i proudly present this, which is incredibly cool and really rather exciting.

[the quality is not great. it is an mp3 made out of a tape of the radio, but please try to forgive me ... it was my little bit of fun]

some days i wake up and think damn it, i really can't be bothered saving Zion

i have closure [if you can call it that], but i really think that that is all that the matrix#3 will do for you. i think that it is probably highly unlikely you will think it is an enlightening film. instead you'll sit through it and have thoughts like oooh, look at the mighty morphin power rangers and no more visual bastardisation of sydney please or maybe even i think i've eaten a meal on that intersection.

my other thought regarding that film was in regards to whether there are actually any substantial differences in plot [other than the outcome] between matrix#3 and the return of the king.

wow. i have had a lot of "jerry's final thoughts" this evening.

This morning i paddled from the Fairfield Canoe Club to Studley Park Boathouse and back. Apparently it's about 11km return. I think my muscles are a little fatigued.

General question: is the matrix #3 worth viewing? I shall go this evening if it is. This shall be a consensus sort of poll, but because i'm a long way off being a paid member you will all just have to comment.

Hmm. time to go and consider lunch.

Just thought i'd say:

Gersey were great and the bloke from Pavement and the Preston School of Industry was rather good too

That was me plugging Gersey and Spiral Stairs [i think that's what he's called] playing at the Evelyn tonight and Saturday night. It was sensational. You should go.

Yes. Well you can no doubt tell that I'm procrastinating if I'm bothering to update this early in the day. I have, however, been very productive in procrastinating [i'm just waiting for 50 pages of notes to print] ... and so i present to you much excitingness.

After viewing the above i came to the conclusion that Harry and Ron are both frotteurs. they are actively gaining sexual gratification through the rubbing of their bodies against that of Snape. Snape having lost his one true and rather secret love [see eg. http://www.eviltrailmix.com/extra/potter.mp3 ] is quite justified in killing Harry and Ron for what can only be deemed to be perverted frottage.*

* Well, provocation will at least reduce any conviction to manslaughter.

Hrmm. I have absolutely nothing of interest to report to you folk out there in the real world. I have a crim exam tomorrow. I hope to pass! Only 6 hours [7.25 including reading time] of the things left. Then i shall be a happy michael.

tomorrow i have an exam! this is my second 1 hour exam. i'm confident that it will be as absolutely thrilling as the last. unfortunately, i know quite a lot less about this one so at this point you might consider that i have two options:
1. to study.
2. to not study.
i have not yet reached conclusion as to which of the two above options i shall partake. however, i shall inform you as to the nature of the subject. the subject is commonly known as Global Politics, and is a first year arts subject. in my hour in the royal exhibition building i must write two 'essays'. i question the use of the word 'essay', as i'm really not confident that i'd like to classify anything that i shall write in half an hour as being at all essay like. instead, i imagine that it will look a lot more like an introductory paragraph with some content following. nonetheless, the first of these essays will relate to globalisation alternately i have a feeling that it could instead be a 'why did the cold war end?' style question, and for the second i shall be given seven or eight options so that i can talk about such areas as refugees, global environmental politics or trade liberalisation.

in other exciting news my quest to extricate myself from msn seems to be going quite well*. i'm approaching 48 hours without use of that horrible horrible microsoft service. as a mac user i was obviously already convinced that microsoft is the darkside, yet that the darkside could lure me so does demonstrate that i am easily tempted.

Multiple choice time. Which of the following is completely irrelevant to question 3 of the 1999 crim exam?

a. Sue projected the crockery at Tim, which on impact caused him to slump forward unconscious.

b. Nick's distaste for the cheap whitegoods saw him throw the toaster into the bath with Tim.

c. Sean Connery: "Shocking"

Oooh, but for the day's excitement: I have a new picture thingy. You may be able to see it to the left. If and when i can be bothered editing it, the MARKS part shall be roughly crossed out.

So this evening we witnessed Sushi Stadium and the Bonito Battle. I tend to think that the sushi making skills of the Challenger on Iron Chef were rather good [probably why he was the champion sushi chef in 1994 when this episode of Iron Chef was made]. I would really quite like a lift in the quality of sushi offered to us by Plush Fish, but as the commentary team suggested that the requisite skills for creating sushi of that quality would take ten years and given the volume of sushi that Plush sells ... I think that sushi rivalling that of the Challenger is not likely to be on offer at melbourne uni any time soon.

Hmm. In other exciting news: I just went for a walk.
In even more exciting news: This afternoon I sat outside in the sun and read about Assault and Battery.

Battery is actually somewhat interesting, especially the issues as to what you can consent to. It is important to note that you can consent to at least a level of harm in regard to manly pursuits such as: wrestling, duelling [foils], cudgels, rough horseplay and that sort of thing. However, anything much outside this list could leave the person that is acting on the other's consent open to conviction. For instance a group of homosexuals who have been meeting over a period of 10 years for entirely consensual sadomasochistic activities will be convicted of assault occasioning actual bodily harm* while the husband in a heterosexual couple in which the female has consented to having her husband brand his initials on her buttocks with a heated knife will not be convicted as activities between a husband and wife in private should not be criminalised if they within the category of inflicting actual bodily harm [and there is consent].

* note that this is an english decision and despite the European Court of Human Rights having allowed the individuals to be released, it still stands as good law.

Isn't the law great?

This afternoon I did an exam. That is all that need/should be said about that.

However, in the exam recovery period i did some very exciting things. The most exciting of these is that i have now got around to invoicing Scotch for debating coaching dating back as far as the twentieth of May. When i say that i have got around to invoicing Scotch i mean that i have printed off the invoice that i shall in time put in an envelope and mail to them. Further, i experienced a delightful public house opposite the Perseverance on the corner of Brunswick and Moor Streets. The late afternoon sun could quite possibly have been achieved somewhere that was less out of my way, however, it was still all rather lovely.

I have also concluded that i need a new t-shirt. This t-shirt has history in that i had a very similar t-shirt at the age of 3 or 4 which had the words "Maths is as easy as Pi" [with Pi inscribed not as a "p" followed by an "i" but instead with the Greek letter that is phonetically equivalent to "pi"]. This t-shirt was incredibly cool and thus my mother is going to investigate whether the Mathematics Association of Victoria [MAV - yes they are the people that wrote the really crap practice exam papers back in the day] still sell them ... 16 years on. [note: i think it is important to say that my mother did not get me a t-shirt from the MAV when i was 3 ... one of her tutoring students did]. If they do not i shall probably have to commit a copyright infringement and make one for myself. So people, watch out, the maths is as easy as pi t-shirt is going to change your world!

Well ... i think that the following extract is necessary for all Kath and Kim viewers:

Crimes Act 1958
s64. Bigamy
Whosoever being married goes through the form or ceremony of marriage with any other person during the life of her or his husband or wife, shall be guilty of an indictable offence, and shall be liable to level 6 imprisonment (5 years maximum). Nothing in his section contained shall extend to any person going through the form or ceremony of marriage as aforeaid whose husband or wife has been continually absent from such person for the space of seven years then last past and has not been known by such person to be living within that time; or shall extend to any peson who at the time of her or his going through such through such form or ceremony of marriage has been divorced from the bond of the marriage; or to any person whose marriage at such time has been declared void by the sentence of any court of competent jurisdiction.

I'm convinced that updating my livejournal more than once a month is bad form and that really I should be aiming for once every three months or so. However, as it is my last post was on the 9th of October, and today is but the 6th of November. If you want to know what has got into me to induce this flurry of activity I tell ye that the answer is swot vac. Swot vac is a horrible thing to do to me, it means i must find ways to fill in my days that involve as little study as possible. I used to play snake on my nokia 3310, but given the upgrade of phone that occurred a few months ago pulling out the old phone just to attempt to beat my snake highscore of 2647 seems a little too much ... and thus I have resorted to livejournal!

So. To demonstrate, that i'm alive, and therefore worthy of a livejournal I can tell all you curious onlookers that today I:
+ Spent an hour or so in the sun reading contracts.
+ Had a rather filling lunch.
+ Discovered that the concepts of misleading and deceptive conduct and misrepresentation are ... hmm ... interesting.
I think that the rest of my day must have been taken up with procrastination. However, I can't really recall, this may demonstrate that either I'm getting so good at procrastination that I can't recall partaking of it OR my quality of procrastination is not up to a level and involves such uncreative activities that noone would ever hope to recall it.

Michael

---> If I were to update again before today is over, would that really be demonstrating a worrying trend?
